Do you still remember the scene in the film The Conjuring (2013), about a sinister-faced female demon who suddenly jumped from a closet? Or a hidden play scene with tense dedemites?
If you think these two scenes are terrible enough, wait until The Conjuring 2 is played in front of you. Calling the sequel played in Indonesia on June 10 twice as scary as its predecessor, is also not too excessive.

There are several reasons why The Conjuring 2 will be more successful in terrorizing the audience than the first film. The first is because the atmosphere of horror has covered the audience since the early minutes of the film. James Wan, the director of these two horror films, actually tried to apply the same thing in The Conjuring. But the tension in the opening part of the film was very soft compared to what appeared on The Conjuring 2.
And even more fun - especially for fans of horror films - the tension at the beginning of this film does not stop in just one scene. Barely without a break, at least in the first 30 minutes the audience was continually hit by events outside reason. Only then can the audience breathe with relief from the warmth of the Warren couple and the Hodgson family, before being hit again suddenly with a film climax.
This, makes The Conjuring 2 feel a little different from other horror films that generally build climax slowly. The setting of a true story at Enfield in 1977 which had been tense since the beginning, was enough to help this unconventional proclamation.
Like it or not, James Wan still relies on a surprising jump scare, similar to the horror films he handled before. But at least, it feels right James Wan is increasingly skilled at pulling back and forth the tension in this film. He is more patient to set the rhythm. Very slowly he built an atmosphere of horror and raised the tension, before executing the jump scare which became the ultimate weapon.
Even the audience, it feels like it will easily be sucked in a world full of horrors built by James Wan. Moreover, James Wan presents a place and situation that feels familiar to the audience, so it's easy to arouse latent fear in the minds of the audience.
Remember the tense feeling when facing a gloomy hallway or the condition of a quiet and dark house at midnight? Matters like this are explored by James Wan in The Conjuring 2.
So, don't be surprised if after watching a movie, you will have difficulty sleeping. Because as shown in this film, the bedroom and blanket may not be able to fortify you from the terrible memories left by The Conjuring 2.
