1917 is a British war drama film directed by Sam Mendes. The screenplay is written by Sam Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns. The time frame of 1917 coincides with World War I, according to the year in the title. The 1917 film tells the story of two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Charles Chapman), who are tasked with delivering messages to prevent more soldiers from being killed. The story in this film is full of scenes of wars that race against time. They had to cross enemy territory and deliver a message to stop the attack that could take hundreds of British troops, with Blake's siblings between them. "Your job is to send a message that cancels tomorrow's attack. Otherwise, we will lose 1,600 men, your brother among them," said the character in the film. The task was considered impossible because it requires the two soldiers to pass through enemy territory. The trailer features brutal attacks that threaten the lives of thousands of soldiers on the battlefield. This trailer is filled with explosions, gunfire, and corpses that fall, it could be a sign that this film will show scenes of violence throughout the film. Besides 1917, two other films were released today, Awoken and Start Up. Awoken tells the story of a medical student, Karla, who has a relative who has a genetic sleep disorder. He really wanted to find a cure for his brother named Blake. In the process, Karla participated in experimental treatments carried out in a long-abandoned underground hospital. The project was led directly by his father, Robert. Not long after, Karla found a cassette that had long been lost. The cassette contained a terrible secret about the death of their mother who turned out to have the same genetic condition, which was passed on to Blake. Then various scary and tragic supernatural events emerge. Karla, who claimed to be atheist, concluded that the only remedy that might be able to treat her sister was exorcism. However, the person he trusted the most had other ideas. While Start Up tells the story of a man named Taek Il. He carelessly and carelessly left home, opposing his mother who asked him to go to college. In an unfamiliar environment, he found work as a food deliveryman in a Chinese restaurant. There, Taek II hung out with new people like Geo Seok, a chef, and Kyung Ku, a boxer. There is also Sang Iil, Taek Il's friend, entering the lending business to make money. In the beginning, it seemed like it was easy to get wealth, but in the end they were tormented when faced with unexpected things.
